Social Action & Justice Committee
With guidance from the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC) and our clergy, lay leadership and the Social Action and Justice Committee, we undertake initiatives and campaigns that address contemporary issues such as environmental protection, racial justice, voting rights and food insecurity. Temple Sinai is dedicated to making changes in the lives of individuals and families in our community. We do this through service, education and action. Adult communities, youth programs, and ad hoc working groups in our congregation focus on mitzvah and service projects, community engagement and partnerships, both interfaith and with other Jewish organizations, and support for marginalized populations. Some Ways to Get Involved:
- Join the Social Action and Justice Committee
- Sponsor or attend programs to educate the congregation on social action issues
- Participate in social action events such as: Mitzvah Day, rallies, marches, food drives
- Recycle and reduce use of plastic, cans, glass and paper
- Fill our yellow food barrels for food pantry
- Read monthly Cliff Notes: Social Action and Volunteer eblast
